Foodie Friday: Cool Summer Drinks

Watermelon Lemonade

An ice cold drink in the summertime sure hits the spot!  There's something nostalgic and charming about having a nice cool drink on the porch.  We've found some great drink recipes for you to have on hand for your family and any guests that pop by for a visit.  Pull up a chair, sit back, relax and enjoy!



Watermelon Lemonade 
12 cups lemonade*
5 cups watermelon juice

Instructions:
Cut chunks of watermelon and blend until almost liquid.
Pour 5 cups watermelon juice in the drink dispenser with 12 cups of lemonade. Add slices of watermelon and lemons and top with ice.

Homemade Lemonade (double this recipe to make the 12 cups you will need)
1 1/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
3/4 to 1 cup sugar or a sugar substitute. (You can add more or less depending on how you like it!)
6 cups water

Instructions:
Boil water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add in the fresh squeezed lemon juice and pour into a heatproof glass pitcher. Refrigerate until cold.


Copycat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade

Copycat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade 

Ingredients
2 Tazo Passion Tea Bags
16 oz Water
4 oz Lemonade
2 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp Vanilla

Instructions:
Boil water.
Remove from heat add tea bags, sugar and vanilla.
Allow to sit for 15 minutes.
Remove tea bags and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Add ice to a tall closable container. Add 8 oz tea and 2 oz of lemonade per serving. Shake well to mix.

Sparkling Honey Limeade

Sparkling Honey Limeade

Ingredients:
1 liter club soda or sparkling water, chilled
1 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup honey (preferably light colored)
Ice
Fresh mint (optional)

Instructions: 

In a pitcher whisk together 1/2 cup water and sugar until sugar has dissolved. Pour in honey and mix until well blended. Stir in lime juice. Pour in club soda or sparkling water and stir once. Add in ice and mint.
